Just before half term Year 8 students visited Kew Gardens as part of their current Art project based on Masks. The trip was inspirational.
Students looked at a selection of contemporary artists currently on display in the Temperate House and responded to their work. They also got to travel the world through the paintings of the extraordinary Marianne North – an unsung pioneer in botanical art.
A lot of walking took place to make sure we visited the other greenhouses of Kew. It was a lot of fun. All students recorded their observations in sketchbooks they had made specifically for the trip.
It was a fantastic trip. The year group were superb in their approach to gathering research and recording what they saw.
Well done Year 8!
