Students from Year 7 to A-Level at Sutton High School have once again excelled in the annual UK Bebras Challenge, a competition focused on computational and logical thinking. This online challenge is organised by Oxford University in partnership with the Raspberry Pi Foundation and is open to students in over 50 countries.
In addition to students achieving Merit and Distinction awards, those with the highest scores in their age groups have earned the prestigious Best in School awards. Congratulations to our 2024 Sutton High School winners: Emily Y and Jessica M (Juniors, 10-12), Poppy-Mei S (Intermediates, 12-14), Sophia C (Seniors, 14-16), and Holly B (Elite, 16-18).
This year, 37 students also received Gold Awards, placing them in the top 10% of their year group nationally. These exceptional achievers are invited to take part in the next round, the Coding Challenge, in March 2025. This exciting event is designed to enhance coding skills and inspire innovative problem-solving. Open to students who excelled in the Bebras Challenge or are seeking an extra challenge, it’s a fantastic opportunity to build on the computational thinking skills developed in Bebras.
