I am delighted to be leading you in your GCSE year.
Welcome to Year 11. A fundamental and exciting year in your education. I look forward to continuing with you all on this journey as your Head of Year, along with Ms Dixon your Head of Wellbeing, and form tutors, as part of your pastoral support network here at Sutton High.
Your tutors can offer you a listening ear during dedicated one to one tutorials. This will offer opportunities to celebrate, coach and support you as you progress through the year. It is a chance for you to discuss progress, concerns or accomplishments in a safe and impartial setting, where your well-being remains at the heart of your tutors’ focus.
Year 11 can be a manner of all things, a rollercoaster of feelings and emotions. The pastoral team and I are here to support you whilst you manage your responsibilities including, but not limited to, being in school on time; managing homework and coursework to enable you to meet deadlines – and we will support you when this feels difficult; attending intervention and support sessions; support you in exam periods – without forgetting all the extra-curricular activities, as well as that all important down time.
I look forward to celebrating all your hard work and successes throughout the year.
