Sixth Form Business and Economics students welcomed Anna from ByAnna for an inspirational talk about starting a business. ByAnna is a luxury cake and biscuit brand based in Cheam Village. She talked honestly about the challenges of starting a new business from scratch and the sacrifices she has made at 24 years old.
She spoke about the marketing mix, especially how important branding is to her business. To market her business, she uses Instagram and has over 25,000 followers and is keen to get to 26,000. Follow her on @__byanna__ and see how talented she is.
Taking a risk is something an entrepreneur has to do, and Anna talked through how she raised finance and went from a sole trader to a limited company. She now employs 6 staff and is open 7 days a week. She has expanded and has a pop up shop in Wimbledon and visits festivals in the summer. It was really interesting for the students to see what is learnt in the classroom in practise
