Last weekend Sutton High School’s water loving year eight student, Bella, made quite a splash representing Surrey against the counties of Kent and Middlesex, in water polo. Not only was Bella the only girl selected for the team, but her team also won a gold medal in the U14 category. Bella’s impressive performance at the recent ESSA Annual Water Polo Event has earned her recognition as one of the top young talents in the country.

At this prestigious event, the best U14 children from across the UK compete, and Bella was among those selected to highlight her skills. At the U14 level, Bella represents London and Surrey, playing for both the U14 and U16 Surrey teams. In addition to her club commitments, Bella is on the National Talent Pathway at the U14 level, training at the London Talent Centre. This pathway is designed to develop young athletes through to U16, with the goal of identifying talent for the U18 Great Britain team.

Currently, Bella is dedicated to training with Croydon Amphibians and London Otters, committing four sessions a week to hone her water polo abilities. Alongside this, she competes in regular fixtures both locally and across the country. Outside of water polo, Bella also trains twice a week with Sutton and Cheam Swimming Club, further enhancing her overall athleticism and aquatic performance.

With her talent, hard work, and dedication, Bella is undoubtedly one to watch in the future of water polo. Well done, Bella!
