My name is Chloe C in Year 12 and I’m currently studying Biology, Chemistry and History A-level, planning to take Biomedical sciences (or adjacent) in the future. I learned about the Unsung Heroes video competition by seeing the posters posted around the STEAM building, and by Biology teacher Ms Jenkins’ recommendation.
In short, Unsung Heroes is an annual video competition held by Hertford College, Oxford, in which students are asked to make a video introducing a lesser known scientist that made significant contributions to the science world. I teamed up with my friends Toju and Ella to research the scientist Tu Youyou, a Chinese woman who discovered a treatment for Malaria.
